This is my attempt to debunk how we glorify “being yourself” as the answer to all of our problems. I absolutely know it to be true that developing “self-love” comes from learning how to love and be yourself.
However, I have too many times heard “thats just who I am” used as an excuse for not being able to achieve something, avoiding the authentic truth, or taking responsibility for their actions. I want to make sure as we work on self-discovery we understand that who we are may have to evolve sometimes to become who we want to be.
